Education and Training:
Dr. Fayyaz is a graduate of Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad. He did his training in Plastic Surgery under supervision of (Late) Prof. Kahlid M. Durrani( First Qualified Plastic Surgeon in Pakistan) at Dow Medical College & Civil Hospital, Karachi. He did his Diploma of Specialized Surgery in Plastic Surgery from Vienna University Austria. He got specialised training in cleft lip & palate surgeries from Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan and learnt advanced techniques to operate difficult cases (Previously operated) of cleft lip and palate.
Research in Cleft Lip & Palate
Prof. Fayyaz is also doing research project with University of Health Sciences in different aspects of cleft lip and palate patients in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

His research papers have been published in national as well as international medical journals. One of his paper on “Model Humanitarian Cleft Mission; 312 Cleft Surgeries in 7 days” Published in March 2015 in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Global Open has won International Collaboration Gold Award, in July 2016.

Dr. Fayyaz strongly believes in continuing medical education and training to the young Surgeons, Speech Therapists and Cleft Orthodontists.
He has organized seven international Symposium for management of Cleft Lip & Palate in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2015. World renowned Cleft Surgeons from Taiwan, USA and Pakistan were the Faculty members and trained hundreds of Surgeons of Plastic, Maxillo-Facial and Paediatric Surgery, Orthodontists and Speech Therapists. Fayyaz and his team performed free of cost surgeries during horrible earthquake on October 08, 2005 at Abbottabad to help hundreds of Earthquake victims. He along with friends provided financial help to the affectees of earthquake.
